A useful tool I've recently learned about on @Mastodon are subject-specific accounts that automatically boost posts they are mentioned in. You can use these in two ways:
1) Follow them to get posts from other users interested in those topics
2) Include the accounts in your posts to automatically boost and share your post with others interested in that subject
Here are few I use:
@geography
@politicalscience
@geopolitics
@immigration
